July 1st was my birthday. The first half of the day was spent on our always evolving garden and yard projects. We are beginners when it comes to gardening so it’s been quite a learning experience. I fully intend to get some pictures up eventually, but we keep moving things and adding new things. I keep telling myself I’ll get photos when we’re done..but I’m not sure we’ll ever be done! 🙂
Breakfast was at Wolfgang’s, which can you believe I’m a Grand Rapids native and I have never been there before?? It was good! I’m not sure any food is worth waiting an hour, line around the block good though, so definitely plan to get there early or during off-peak times. (We got there about 9:30 on a Saturday morning and waited just about 20 minutes.)
After we cleaned up a bit, we headed out to Muskegon to meet friends for dinner at Pints and Quarts. Good burger, delicious peanut butter brownie and ice cream! We ended the night walking the beach to catch the sunset. All in all, a great birthday.
Besides getting older and tearing up our yard, I’ve spent more time in the library this summer than I have in several years combined. There are so many fun things going on there that I’m writing up a whole separate post on it. Yup, you know you’re a super cool person when you spend your summer in a library and write whole blog posts about it. 🙂
In other exciting news, I was chosen to be part of a book launch team! I received the advanced copy of the book and have almost finished reading it so look for reviews from me soon. The website for the book is More Than Just Making It and you can get some pretty awesome pre-order bonuses if you want to buy it now! This is a fun way to dive into more writing with my free time, and I can’t wait to see how the process goes and what I can learn from it.
Besides that, I’ve been watching the live action Beauty and the Beast as well as devouring the behind the scenes bonus material included. I absolutely love the added back story for the characters and the new songs.
I’m still chipping away at my overgrown Kindle ebook library, but I’m going to let that take a bit of a backseat so I can give this book I’m helping to launch my full attention. I’m trying to be good about updating my Goodreads account every time I finish a book though, so if you’d like, you’re more than welcome to follow along there.
