There are so many things that I would love to share with you, things I’ve learned, things I’m still learning, but ultimately the biggest thing I want to share is that you are never alone.
I have spent the better part of my life struggling, often failing, in silence, and I’m only just now beginning to realize how needless all of it was. I’ve stifled my voice, afraid I’ll say the wrong thing, that I’ll say something that isn’t funny enough, or smart enough, or kind enough. It took me too long to realize that the more I bottled up what I wanted to say, the more I lost my own voice.
I don’t want to do that anymore, and I don’t want you to, either. I want you to come here and find a safe place to speak your mind and find out about someone’s journey who may be a lot like you, or may be completely different. Either way, this journey should be about connection and community as much as it is about finding your own voice and finally taking care of yourself.
Clearly, I struggle with consistency, amongst many other things, but I’m willing to work on that if it means finding my voice and having you along for the ride.
To start this off, I’d just like to share a few of the things I’ve been up to lately because I tend to live most of my life in the comfort of my home and so it never makes it to social media or this blog.
Books I’ve been reading: I just purchased the Ultimate Healthy Living Bundle and have been working through the ebooks on essential oils. I’ve been having some pretty annoying headaches lately and this has lead to a renewed interest in finding something other than tons of over the counter pills for relief. To go along with this, I just purchased the Essential Oils for Beginners by Althea Press and can’t wait to get started on that book. (Disclaimer: The link to this book is an affiliate link meaning if you go through my link and purchase the book, I’ll get a kickback from Amazon. If you’d rather not do that, you can simply go to Amazon.com or your book buying site of choice and search by title for the book)
Non-health related, I’ve been slowing making my way through the Lord of the Rings Series for the first time, as well as re-reading the Harry Potter series. Because of the season of my life, I’ve opted for re-reads, or easier fiction reads lately.
My biggest accomplishments lately are that I’ve gotten better at consistently making to do lists for my days to give them a bit more structure. I’ve tried blocking out my time in the past and always felt too constricted so I’ve switched to a basic list of things I’d like to accomplish in a day and that seems to be working much better for me.
Labor Day weekend, my husband and I went up north and explored for a bit. I planned on writing up a post on that, and even got the pictures uploaded, but work and some illnesses got in the way. I haven’t decided if it would be worth it to post this late or not now, because I’d like my blog to be more current than, “oh hey, this is what I did three weeks ago!”
Well, that’s a bit about what’s been going on in my super exciting life! Ha. I’ll keep working on bringing my voice to this blog if you promise to be patient and kind. 🙂
